Leafs draft Biggs and Percy
The Leafs traded their 30th and 39th pick to Anaheim in exchange for the 22nd pick in the 2011 draft. There was no surprise when Burke chose the captain of the U18 U.S National team, power forward Tyler Biggs with the 22nd pick. Drawing comparisons to Colby Armstrong and Milan Lucic, Biggs undoubtably fits Burkes team idea of testosterone and truculence. (Biggs grew up a Leaf Fan)
With the 25th pick the Leafs took Oakville' Stuart Percy, who is described as a low maintenance, puck moving D-man. Playing under Dave Cameron, Percy enjoyed a solid Memorial Cup run with the St. Michael's Majors. Percy put up 4 goals and 33 points in his first OHL season. (Also grew up a Leaf fan)
Leaf fans should be moderately happy with the draft, but will be wondering when and how Burke is going to fill the void at centre. Don't think Brad Richards wants to be in Toronto, heating up the "Toronto trade rumours"...
