The list of nominees for the 6th annual independent Canadian music award ranges from Arcade Fire and Neil Young to The Weeknd and PS I Love you. The Polaris Prize rewards the best Canadian album, with the judging based solely on artistic merit. I know The Weeknd's House of Balloons is a long shot but don't be surprised the mixtape cracks the top ten out of 40 bands and artists.
The winner receives a $30,000 first prize... Despite how much I love them- after the year Arcade Fire just had, I don't think they really need the loot...
